I came across this death notice by accident, but wanted to pass along my condolences. I knew Ed was he was a Lieutenant as I was a Sergeant in his anti-armor platoon (CSC, 1/225th Infantry, Detroit Light Guard). He was the best Platoon Leader I ever had. Sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. I am sure he is with the Lord and Savior.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Ziegenmeyer's passing and from the bottom of my heart I offer my sincere condolences. I know you will sorely miss such a wonderful presence in your family. By losing a loved one myself, I can say that I find great comfort in the hope for the future present in the bible: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.””(Revelation 21:4) This hope can bring some light on these dark and trying times. There is also a hope found in John 5:28,29, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice [the voice of Jesus] and come out." The resurrection that this Bible verse talks about will give us the opportunity to see our lost loved ones again. I know it will be a joyous time when you can reunite Mr. Ziegenmeyer!

Deepest sympathy to everyone who was touched by this wonderful soul...Especially to his children I know all to well how it feels to lose a wonderful father and I am so sorry for your loss. I don't quite know how Mark and I will move forward it's going to be tough... RIP Eddie we love you always and will miss you terribly...nothing can fill the void of such a treasured and loyal friend.
