I also had the great pleasure of getting to know Rich while working at Kodak here in Chicago and then kept in touch after he and the family moved to Indy. We tried to keep in touch, however we hadn't talked in a few years. Every time we did talk he was always upbeat and positive, as you all know Rich was. I was sad to hear the news of his passing as it makes you realize that life is sometimes a fleeting moment. Please know that our family will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I got a call late from Donna at home in Texas (where Rich was from '97) late at night with this sudden and surprising news. It was so unsettling as I have worked with Richard for many years in different capacities. He was a true gentleman, and really quite the card, and wonderful sense of humor. I thought of him as the "jon Bono" of the photography art world, with his smile, candor and his stylish glasses. Richard left us all way to soon, and I know his family and friends will all miss him terrribly.

To the family of Rich, I had worked with Rich at Kodak. Over the years we’d meet while staffing trade shows - allowing time for us to catch up. Although our conversations were a small portion of the time while there, that time spent with Rich was always a bright spot. Sincere, funny, engaging, friendly and upbeat - he always connected with his old friends (like me from Kodak), and easily met new ones...His passing has come way too soon-he will be missed. Words cannot adequately express the deep sadness that I’ve felt for the passing of Rich. It was shocking to hear, even harder to comprehend. I’ve worked closely with Rich for many years at both Sony Photo and DNP Photo. My heart goes out to all the family member and I offer my condolences in this difficulty time. I was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Rich. Rich was my Sony rep, and he taught me about digital imaging when that was a new 'thing'. I learned so much from him, and he was a good friend too. He helped me at trade shows and shared some great photography ideas with me. My deepest condolences to Rich’s family. I had a professional relationship with Rich for many many years dating back to his first days at Sony. What a professional. If you needed anything, and Rich could make it happen, he did. No doubt a key to his many successes. When he was in my office we seemed to always end up talking about family, dogs, and the outdoors.
